48,000 more places added     

    我市学校去年新增4.8万余个学位

    The city’s education bureau announced earlier that Shenzhen has added over 48,000 school places in 2015. There are around 1.88 million students currently enrolled in Shenzhen schools. The number increased 7.4 percent from 2014.

    At least 216 charity kindergartens and 20 new public primary and middle schools were built in Shenzhen in the last year. Three high schools were expanded, adding 5,700 more places. There are four new high schools currently under construction.

    China initiated the two-child policy on January 1 this year, and beneficial policies regarding second children’s education will be the same as their elder siblings, according to the municipal education bureau.

    For instance, the points system for school age students to apply for school will remain the same for second children.
