    2016-02-03  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

The Shenzhen Municipal Education Bureau announced that the city would see an increase of nearly 80,000 school places by the end of 2017, Daily Sunshine reported.

The bureau launched a project to build or expand more than 100 public primary and secondary schools with 140,000 new school places from 2014 to 2017. There are 23 schools in Shenzhen that have gone through renovations and expansions so far, with 26,700 places added already.

The city also had 20,000 places at kindergartens and 2,000 places at international schools added since 2014. More than 10 billion yuan (US$1.52 billion) has been invested in expanding and building schools so far. (Zhang Qian)
