EMPLOYEES and representatives from JW Marriott Hotel Shenzhen visited the Golden Age Autism Rehabilitation Center in late January to arouse public awareness of autism and give more warmth and love to autistic children. Children with autism are called “the children of stars” as they live in the world with everyone else but are lonely and often lack emotional responses, language and social skills. Fifteen hotel associates visited the center and expressed great concern for autistic children’s daily lives and education opportunities. During the visit, the associates interacted with the autistic children to help them recognize or understand emotions and feelings. In addition, the hotel prepared a delicious afternoon tea set and a New Year gift pack for the children to make the visit more memorable. “Every 20 minutes, a child somewhere in the world is diagnosed with autism. It is estimated that there are more than 1 million autistic children in China,” said the director of the Golden Age Autism Rehabilitation Center surnamed Yan. (SD News) |
