Students from four international schools in Shenzhen participated in a joint sports league on Saturday.

Green Oasis School (GOS) in Futian District hosted dozens of young athletes from GOS, Shen Wai International School, Quality School International, Shekou and International School of Nanshan Shenzhen.

The races on Saturday were track and field matches among students. The four schools, forming an association, have been organizing year-round sports events such as basketball games and soccer games for students since 2014.

“The schools take turns organizing the events and today is our school’s day to carry out the field and track match,” said a director from GOS’s middle school.

On the same day, the Futian District Government staff members toured the school along with a group of expatriate visitors and two Chinese families.

The school principal, Helen Swan, guided the tour and introduced the sports league to the visitors.

According to Swan, the school values the students’ all-round abilities in many fields, including arts and sports. Artwork created by students was displayed along the corridors of the teaching buildings.

A person on the school tour surnamed Yan, also a mother of a 6-year-old daughter, said that the dynamic atmosphere at the school impressed her very much.
