On October 22 and 23, our senior high school held its 26th Sports Meeting. It was very interesting to take part in it. On October 21, we had a great opening ceremony. It was brilliant! I devoted myself to taking photos of the wonderful parade! Then, the Senior 1 students had a morning exercise competition. The teachers shouted, “I hope you can be higher, swifter and stronger!” Although our class didn’t get a good score, we were still happy with our performance. There were a lot of events at this sports meeting, such as the high jump, long jump, 100-meter race, relay races and so on. Everyone competed fairly. The first event was the 100-meter race. All of our classmates rushed down to cheer for our class team. The playground was alive, and then, our team won the championship. My event was the 800-meter race. At first, I was nervous and afraid I wouldn’t hear the starting gunshot, but I didn’t want to fall behind. When I was running, my classmates cheered loudly for me. I was very glad to hear that! When I got to the finish line, they gave me warm hugs and passed a bottle of water to me. I felt moved. At the end of the sports meeting, our class won first prize. From this sports meeting, I have come to understand that success comes from teamwork. |
