Hotel appoints new general manager

    LANGHAM Hospitality Group has announced the appointment of Jeffrey van Vorsselen as the general manager of The Langham, Shenzhen. Vorsselen brings more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry to this position, including pre-opening, operations, sales and marketing and general management. Vorsselen is an excellence-seeking and insightful hotelier who will lead the management team at The Langham, Shenzhen to achieve even greater heights.

    Born and bred in New Zealand, Vorsselen has an innate passion for the hospitality industry. He has worked in New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom, Africa, the United States and Asia, and gained a profound understanding and knowledge of the hospitality market in China.

    Vorsselen joined Langham Hospitality Group in 2003 and has become a Langham veteran. During his five years at Langham Place, Mongkok, Hong Kong, now known as Cordis, Hong Kong, as general manager, he played a major role in transforming Langham Place into an international luxury hotel brand.

    He later joined The Langham, Auckland as managing director and then chose to build his career in China as pre-opening manager director of Langham Place, Rio Carnival, Qingdao & Eaton Luxe, Rio Carnival, Qingdao. He later relocated to the United States in 2015 to work at The Langham, Boston and Eaton, Washington, D.C., respectively.

    While being both passionate and energetic, Vorsselen has a strong understanding of the Langham brand. He will lead the team at The Langham, Shenzhen to create impeccable and memorable experiences that showcases the classical luxury of a European grand hotel in the dynamic city of Shenzhen.(SD News)
