The five years I worked as an editor at our newspaper passed by so fast and finally came to an end. I can still recall the feeling of curiosity and anxiety before having my English article published. There is no doubt that the work improved my ability to use English by providing opportunities to express my opinions. What I am most grateful for is my improved confidence using English and the passion I developed for English. I’ve become more interested in language. For instance I picked up the habit of watching American and European movies and listening to Western music and practicing oral English every morning. Quite a few students feel it is a burden to learn English. I see English as a way to get good marks and also as something that makes me feel wonderful. As the old saying goes: “Interest is the best teacher.” It is also true for learning any kind of foreign language. The most important thing I want to stress to you all is to follow your hearts to get involved in the English world and to use it no matter whether you are sure you are using it correctly or not. |
