Small steps to protect our planet
    2016-04-27  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

My dream is that everyone in the country will protect the environment.

China is quickly developing. We have advanced technology and the hardest working people. Our lives will become better and better. But there is one issue that we must face, and that issue is environmental pollution. Many factories dump their dirty water into nearby rivers and oceans and cause water pollution. To add on to this, there is also a great amount of air pollution in our country.

A lot of people like going to work by car. This produces loads of carbon dioxide. In Beijing, there are 4.5 million cars in the streets. Every year, cars in China produce 1.2 tons of carbon dioxide causing major air pollution. There are also many people who cut down trees, leading to erosion and less oxygen in our air.

Because of these environmental problems many animals suffer also. Pollution has caused many animals to die. There are many problems we should correct but there are also many ways we can help the earth. I have some advice for people to follow: Go to work by bike or bus and use less paper and water.

I believe that we can become greener and make China a better, more beautiful place for people to call home!
