Hotel holds Thai food festival
    2016-05-13  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE Open Kitchen at Langham Place, Guangzhou and the Consulate of the Kingdom of Thailand in Guangzhou are holding a “Thai-talise Food Festival” to offer guests a culinary tour of Thailand through June 30.

Guest chef Teaw from Thailand has flown in to showcase the intense flavors of Thai cuisine. One lucky guest will also be in the running to win round-trip air tickets from Guangzhou to Bangkok.

Mr. Vasin Ruangprateepsaeng, the consul general, attended the launch ceremony and gave a welcome address, expressing that Thai food lovers will be spoiled for choice throughout this festival, as chef Teaw will be working with the hotel’s culinary team to serve over 30 dishes featuring exotic flavors and fresh ingredients imported from Thailand.

“I am proud of my heritage and excited to share the cuisine of Thailand with diners in Guangzhou,” said Teaw. “Guests will be able to dine on ingredients straight from Thailand that are prepared in authentic Thai style.”

Thai papaya salad with condiments includes seven kinds of Thai salad made with seafood, tropical fruits and spices, tantalizing the taste buds with hot and sour tastes. The live cooking station presents must-try Thai delicacies including tom yum kung, Thai BBQ bamboo skewer satay, Thai rice noodle soup with assorted vegetables and so on.

Teaw recommends sauteed crab in curry sauce, stir-fried assorted seafood, stir-fried chicken with Thai basil and chilli and stir-fried water spinach with homemade belacan sauce.

Guests enjoy dining in an exotic atmosphere. The restaurant is decorated with wooden dolls, a Buddha head, Thai flags and flowers. (SD News)
