A new form of shampoo could prevent it leaking in your bag. A 16-year-old entrepreneur* has developed solid “shampoo balls” that eliminate* the need for plastic bottles. Each single-use ball contains the amount of shampoo for one hair-wash, and remains solid until mixed with water. Its makers claim Nohbo shampoo is ideal for holidays, enabling travellers to pack only what they need without leaks, spills or clunky plastic packaging. Both the shampoo and the packaging it arrives in are entirely biodegradable*, made from plant-based materials. In order to use the shampoo, the Nohbo ball must be splashed with water and mixed into a lather. Its creator claims it is the first eco-friendly single-use shampoo ball. Boss and founder of Nohbo, Benjamin Stern, came up with the idea when he was just 14 years old, and has been developing it ever since. The sustainable product could be set to revolutionize the way bathroom cosmetics are delivered with Stern planning to release conditioner, body-wash, and shaving cream balls in the future. Stern said: “I was inspired to create Nohbo after watching a documentary showing the horrible effects plastic was having on our environment. It was extremely upsetting and unsettling.”(SD-Agencies) |
