I used to dream of being an animal trainer because animal trainers can stay with animals in the zoo all day long. They can learn animal languages. This is really amazing and wonderful!

    But after going to the zoo many times, I gradually realized that the animals are not happy at all. The lions and tigers are locked in cages. They are whipped if they don’t obey the trainer’s orders. The ostriches, which are said to be great runners, now can only stay behind a small fence and can no longer run. The docile dolphins swim in a little pool and no matter how hard they jump, they can’t get back to the ocean.

    I am very sad! Animals need to go back to their own homes and back to the place that they belong. My mother told me that there are fewer forests. The rivers and oceans are being polluted. In this case, it’s impossible for them to find dense forests, clean water or tasty food.

    What can we do then? They need our help! We need to protect the environment. Let’s create fresh air, grow more trees and clean the water. Then the lovely animals can live a free life.

    Now my dream is to learn about animals. Maybe I can become an animal expert and research them or become a doctor and cure them, thus I can take care of them and help them get better. The happiest moment in my dream would be to live happily with all the animals and be friends with them!

    I hope all these animals can live in the forest, on the grassland, and can even walk in city streets. This is my dream — a beautiful dream.
