    Michael Cimino, the Oscar-winning director whose film “The Deer Hunter” became one of the great triumphs of Hollywood’s 1970s heyday, and whose disastrous “Heaven’s Gate” helped bring that era to a close, has died.

    

    Barrymore may host talk show for Warner TV

    Drew Barrymore could be eyeing a bigger TV return than first considered.

    The actress, who will narrate NBC’s unscripted “First Dates” series for Warner Bros. Television, is considering hosting a daytime talk show for the studio, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

      ‘Mr. Six’ takes home 3 awards at China-Britain Film Festival

    Director Guan Hu’s crime drama “Mr. Six” was the biggest winner at the 2016 China-Britain Film Festival in London, taking home three awards for best director, best supporting actress and best original music.

    disrupting public order

    A Chinese movie director has been detained for allegedly disrupting public order after he was involved in an altercation at an airport, police in Northwest China’s Qinghai Province confirmed on June 29.
