Anna Gunn on roles in ‘Shades of Blue’ and ‘Sully’
    2016-08-03  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

“Breaking Bad” actress Anna Gunn is set to have a recurring* role in the NBC series “Shades of Blue,” starring and produced by Jennifer Lopez.

The Emmy-winning star plays a former bad cop who has a history with Ray Liotta’s character.

“They were cops together and then she started to rise in the ranks. She became captain and now she’s running for mayor and she comes in with a favor to ask of him and it takes off from there. It’s really a good, juicy role.”

The actress adds that they’ve shot three “Shades of Blue” episodes* so far, but production is on a break while Lopez performs in her Las Vegas residency.

Gunn has also recently finished filming a movie named “Sully,” directed by Clint Eastwood and starring Tom Hanks.

“Working with Clint Eastwood was extraordinary and you hear the stories that he doesn’t say ‘action.’ It’s a very quiet, calm set and he’ll just say, ‘Whenever you’re ready,’ and we start and then mainly to Tom Hanks, actually, he doesn’t say ‘cut’ he says, ‘Alright, that’s enough of that, (laughs).’ It was amazing. I just felt like I was in heaven.”

Gunn says the film opens up a different side to the “Miracle on the Hudson” story, which is about the pilot who successfully landed his plane with failing engines on New York’s Hudson River in 2009, saving all 155 crew* and passengers.

“Sully” is due out next month, while “Shades of Blue” returns to TV this winter.
