Jimmy Eat World’s “The Middle” is a known millennial* classic and reliable karaoke mainstay*. Now it has the distinction of being the song chosen for Frances Bean Cobain’s first musical recording. Donning a Fred Flintstone shirt, the 23-year-old Instagramed herself performing a four-second acoustic* cover of the emo tune. Her mother Courtney Love reposted the footage with a heartfelt* message. “I know your father is very proud of this as am I baby,” Love wrote, referring to her late husband and legendary Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain. “I love you to the moon and back.” Cobain has had a bit of a rough summer. Her estranged* husband Isaiah Silva, frontman of the Eeries, wants to keep Kurt’s “MTV Unplugged” acoustic guitar as a type of collateral* for their divorce. More recently, she listed some of her artwork for sale at prices ranging from US$150 to US$400. In context, Frances’ “The Middle” cover sort of works as a respite. (SD-Agencies) |
