    Viola Beach claims posthumous number one album

    Indie band Viola Beach has scored a number one album chart, six months after they were killed in a car crash.

    The self-titled debut was compiled by the band’s families, using live sessions and studio recordings, many of which were originally bound for an EP.

    Fx’s “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story” led the pack of winners at the Television Critics Association’s 32nd annual awards on Saturday night.

    

    Spears announces new album ‘Glory’

    Britney Spears is back. Following her new single “Make Me ...” (which debuted at No. 17 on the Billboard Hot 100), Spears announced her ninth studio album, “Glory.” It is coming via Apple Music on August 26.

    The news came from Spears’ Twitter, along with the promise that this release is the “beginning of a new era” for the long-running pop princess.

    

    Feng signs deal with Hollywood agency CAA

    Award-winning Chinese director Feng Xiaogang has signed up with Hollywood’s Creative Artists Agency (CAA), a representative of Feng confirmed on August 2.

    Feng is one of China’s most successful directors, having directed many blockbusters, including “The Banquet,” “1942” and the hugely profitable “If You Are the One.” Feng’s films have grossed over US$1 billion at China’s box office alone.
