New chef in town
    2016-08-12  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

LANGHAM Place, Guangzhou recently welcomed Andrea Donazzan to its culinary team as its new executive sous-chef. In his new role, Donazzan is responsible for food conceptualization and daily management of the kitchen at Alfresco. He specializes in authentic Italian flavors and traditional dishes that he spices up with a modern twist.

Donazzan has more than 15 years of culinary experience working as a chef in five-star hotels and high-class restaurants in various countries and cities such as the United Kingdom, UAE, Jordan, and China. Prior to this appointment, he was the Italian chef de cuisine at Marriott Amman, Jordan.

Donazzan’s ingenious creations are highly influenced by his Venetian heritage, professional experience and creativity. Donazzan was born and raised in a small town near Venice, and grew up surrounded by art, food and wine.

He loved staying in the kitchen with his grandmother who was an excellent chef, and he would spend his time with her asking about spices, herbs and secret recipes for traditional Italian dishes. After honing his skills in a culinary academy, he embarked on a career as a professional chef.

During his travels around the world, he continuously looked to expand his knowledge of local seasonings and wines, seeking inspiration. With a desire to embark on new adventures and explore new flavors, Donazzan went to Jordan in 2014. Aside from guiding the restaurant and kitchen teams in providing consistently high-quality service and exquisite food, he led Il Terrazzo to become the most popular Italian restaurant in Amman in 2015.

“There is nothing more gratifying than seeing people enjoy the food that I have prepared.” Donazzan believes that food must taste as good as it looks. Meanwhile, he has maintained a regular presence and has been steadily gaining recognition on social media.

He is excited about his new role at Langham Place and looks forward to working with the entire team to ensure that guests enjoy a memorable Italian dining experience at the brand-new Alfresco.(SD News)
