Phone charger makes your device levitate
    2016-08-24  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

    让手机悬浮的充电器

Canadian innovators have developed a wireless charging device that can charge your phone mid-air.

OvRcharge uses a combination of induction charging and magnetic levitation to make devices spin in the air while they power up. The wireless levitational charger is compatible* with most popular phone models, and it can even make a tablet float.

Each case contains an electricity receiver and a magnet, allowing it to pick up the energy sent from the base while maintaining its position in the air.

“Energy is sent through waves and on the other end an inductive coupling to electrical device, which can then use that energy to charge batteries or run the device,” the team explained. “Magnetic levitation or magnetic suspension is a method by which an object is suspended in the air with no support other than invisible magnetic fields.”

“Magnetic force is used to counteract the effects of the gravitational acceleration* and any other accelerations. Two primary issues involved in magnetic levitation are lifting forces: providing an upward force sufficient to counteract gravity, and stability: ensuring that the system does not spontaneously* slide or flip into a configuration* where the lift is neutralized.”
