    Nowadays, advertisements are almost everywhere, on TV, in the street and also on buildings. Widely advertising can let millions of people know about products so that the popularity of the products will grow very quickly. What’s more, gorgeous advertisements will give consumers the feeling that the products are wonderful.

    For products, their popularity is truly very significant. Putting money in advertising equals putting money in raising the popularity of the products.

    Advertisements can make people know about the products unconsciously. Gradually, the products will become popular and maybe some people want to try them out. In this way, more and more people would like to own the products because they do not want to fall behind.

    When the product becomes popular enough, it will become a trend. Everyone wants to follow the trend. Thus, the advertisement is successful for the product.

    Sales volume is the first for businesses. Although it is very necessary for products to be of good quality, popularity is much more important. If a perfect product is only known by a few people, it will be hard to have lots of buyers. What’s more, there are many competitive products of the same type on the market. The products which have low popularity will lose out.

    For example, my uncle founded a company which sold headphones many years ago. At the beginning, he did not realize the importance of advertising, and he did nothing to spread the word on his headphones because he thought his products were so great that consumers would like them and everyone would want to buy them. Actually, almost no one wanted to buy them, even though they were good.

    Advertising is different from puffery, instead, it is a way to help products sell well. Spending lots of money on advertising is really worthwhile.
