Awesome foodie inventions that actually exist
    2016-10-19  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

When it comes to kitchen gizmos and gadgets, we really can’t get enough. And, increasingly, we want them to be bigger and more bonkers* than ever before. Some of these handy little appliances are so niche* that we can’t quite believe they made it past the sketch stages. Here are some foodie inventions that actually exist.

    Sweetcorn kernel stripper

With the ability to strip sweetcorn of its delectably* crunchy kernels, the sweetcorn stripper may be a pretty niche foodie invention, but it’s one we’re also totally in love with it. And now that you don’t have to bite on cobs like a rabbit to extract all those fiddly little nutrient-rich morsels*, think of the money you’ll save on dental floss. Thanks to this super-duper* gadget from Chef’n, available on Amazon, we’re adding corn to every meal.

    Hot dog toaster

This wonder by Ariete makes heating up a hot dog as simple as toasting a slice of bread. Pop two buns in the side compartments*, two frankfurter* sausages in the middle holes, lower them into their hot little den and wait. Ketchup and mustard at the ready.

    Pancake printer

The PancakeBot is the world’s first food printer capable of printing pancakes by automatically dispensing batter* directly onto a griddle*.

The impressive machine, designed by Norway-based inventor Miguel Valenzuela and initially intended just to delight his small children, can print pancakes of any design, with drawings fed into the printer via USB or SD card. Design your own, or select from others uploaded onto the website, including a tiger, a dragon, a sheepdog, Pikachu or even Jesus.

    Selfie spoon

Forget Instragramming your breakfast, now it’s time to Instagram yourself eating your breakfast. And thanks to the selfie spoon — a purple spoon fastened to the end of an extendable selfie-stick — this is now totally possible. The good people at cereal brand Cinnamon Toast Crunch are the brains behind this creation, which comes with a remote control, so you’ll never miss another bite.

    Pretzel maker

Don’t you just hate running out of pretzels* when the shops are closed, and having to wait until they reopen to replenish your wheaty stocks? Well, fret no more! The smart Soft Pretzel Maker Kit enables you to create your own soft snacks, both big and small, and then season them however you like.(SD-Agencies)
