A Yangtze River Dolphin is given a health check at a State-level nature reserve in Central China’s Hubei Province yesterday, the International Freshwater Dolphin Day. More than 60 Yangtze River Dolphins, which were listed as nearly extinct freshwater mammals, are under protection at the nature reserve. There are only 1,045 dolphins in the Yangtze, according to a survey in 2012 by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Chinese Academy of Sciences.Xinhua
