    Two new kinds of bicycle tires have been developed that claim to never go flat.

    Nexo has created Nexo and Ever Tires that are not affected by holes or slashes, it claims.

    Ever Tires are designed with huge holes around their sides, made of a polymer* blend called “Nexell” that the company has invented.

    Nexell, made “through integration of more than three macromolecular* materials via Cross Linking into the primary material of light-weight” offers cushion, resilience* and durability* the company says.

    Ever Tires can last for 8,048km, but cyclists wanting to buy these will need to buy a whole new wheel. The Nexo tire does not have prominent holes, which means it can be attached to existing wheels, but only lasts 4,988km.

    Instead, Nexo tires are filled with the company’s patented* material so contain no air at all.

    The tires have a greater rolling resistance compared to road tires because of the way they are designed, meaning it will take more energy to cycle as fast.

    Nexo says the increased resistance is about 10-15 percent higher depending on the size of the tire.
