Music Unlimited runs through AI assistant
    2016-11-16  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

    人工智能时代,音乐该怎么玩?

The online music streaming market has just got busier after Amazon rolled out its own music service Music Unlimited.

It boasts 40 million tracks and thousands of playlists. Users will also be able to use the service with Amazon’s intelligent Echo speaker, with its AI assistant Alexa able to search for tracks via voice commands.

The service will cost Amazon Prime members US$9.96 per month or US$98 for an annual subscription. Non-Prime members will pay US$12.45 per month. One of the main draws is set to be the integration* with Amazon’s voice-controlled Echo speaker, which has sold more than 4 million units since launching in 2014. By using the AI assistant, users will be able to ask their speaker to play a tune and search for new music.

Amazon claims that Alexa could help to satisfy the most persistent* ear worms which have burrowed into music lovers’ brains, even if they don’t know the words. If someone can only remember the first line of a song, they can instruct the speaker by saying: “Alexa, play the song that goes ...” and giving the words they know. Likewise, to hear the latest track by an artist, Echo users can say: “Alexa, play the latest track by ...”

A string of other functions include choosing music by year, artist, genre, mood and if you are feeling lazy, just “play music” for a personalized* playlist.

A newly designed app will make the service available on iOS, Android and Fire devices as well as Mac and PC.(SD-Agencies)
