Sounds from the past
    2016-11-29  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

AN exhibition at Yuezhong Museum of Historical Images in Shenzhen aims to represent images and sounds of Chaozhou and Shantou from a century ago.

The exhibition, featuring video clips of Chaozhou and Shantou in the early 20th century, over 600 pictures, an hour-long video and audio materials and documents, is a dialogue across time and space, according to Sun Cui and Jiang Du, curators of the exhibition. The exhibition will run until April 30, 2017.

The video clip on display has been the subject of a study conducted by the research team of the museum for about a year. Experts found the recordings of signature Chaoshan-style architecture, the busy commercial life and daily lives of local people extremely valuable for their research. Photo by Sun Yuchen
