可重复使用80次的纸 Researchers have developed paper that can be printed with ultraviolet (UV)* light, eliminating* the need for ink. The light-printable paper can be erased by heating to 120°C and rewritten more than 80 times. The researchers, based at Shandong University in China and the University of California in the U.S., said the secret behind the technology is a color-changing chemical. A thin coating* of the chemical can be applied to conventional* papers, turning it into a reusable, light-printable version. Yin Yadong, a chemistry professor at the University of California, Riverside and a co-author of the study, said: “The greatest significance of our work is the development of a new class of solid-state photoreversible* color-switching system to produce an ink-free light-printable rewritable paper that has the same feel and appearance as conventional paper, but can be printed and erased repeatedly without the need for additional ink. Our work is believed to have enormous economic and environmental merits to modern society.” Once the paper has been printed on, it retains the text or image for at high resolution* for five days and then slowly fades back to blue. But heating the paper for 10 minutes can help to erase it more quickly. (SD-Agencies) |
