‘The Sunbird’ — a book review

My name is Amy. I am 10 years old. In my free time I like to read. My favorite book is “The Sunbird.” The moral of the story is not to be a greedy person.

The story goes like this: In a forest, there were two poor brothers. One day, the younger brother went into a forest to cut some firewood.

Suddenly, a sunbird appeared to him and said: “I can take you to the hill of gold, but we must leave before the sun goes down.” The younger brother was so happy.

Then the sunbird led the younger brother to the hill of gold. There he found lots of money.

And before the sun went down, he and the sunbird went back to the forest. The younger brother told his brother what had happened: “The sunbird took me to the golden hill where I found lots of money. I can take you there, but you must leave before the sun goes down.”

“Ok!” The older brother excitedly said. They went to the golden hill and began to grab money. But the older brother didn’t go back after the sun went down and instead stayed to collect more money.

Ultimately, the sunbird flew away and the sun killed the older brother.

This story tells us to be thankful for our good fortune, and not to be greedy. I recommend everyone read this thoughtful, important story.
