    One man’s zoo

A small zoo in Southwest China’s Chongqing has suspended business following media reports of dreadful* living conditions of the animals there.

The nicknamed “one man’s zoo” in Wangzhou Park, Chongqing’s Fuling District, is home to 20 animals, including an African lioness, a black bear, an ostrich*, a fox and some monkeys. The space provided for the listless* animals ranges from two to five square meters each. The zoo was mainly looked after by Tan Decai, who is also the boss, cleaner, guard and guide at the facility, according to a previous report.

    New rules on delivery goods

Many goods, including some daily items available on online shopping platforms, are featured on a list of prohibited* delivery goods in a newly released regulation.

The new rules, jointly released by three departments, list three detailed categories of goods not allowed to be sent by express delivery: goods that can endanger national security or threaten social order; explosive, inflammable*, toxic and radiometric* materials; and other goods forbidden by the law.

    Two sessions

The annual sessions of China’s top legislative and advisory bodies, scheduled to be convened* in early March, are expected to discuss and approve a national development framework with some new elements.

The fifth sessions of the 12th National People’s Congress and the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, also known as the “two sessions,” will be the first national assembly following a major political meeting in October last year.

    Green cards

Having lived in the Tibet Autonomous Region for six decades, Konchok Dargyi has long considered himself a local, but now, it’s official.

The Nepalese citizen, who has been a resident of Lhasa, the regional capital, since he was born, was among 118 foreign residents who received a “green card” from the city authorities on February 22. Norgyal, head of the Lhasa exit-entry administration bureau, said most of the new green-card holders were born in Lhasa, but had inherited a different nationality from a parent.(SD-Agencies)
