One day when I wake up (I)
    2017-03-08  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

My alarm clock went off for what seemed like the millionth time this morning. I groaned and rolled over. “Oh shoot, it’s already 7:30!” Oh, no. I was going to be late again. I rolled out of bed and ran for the bathroom. I barely saw my reflection in the mirror as I ran into the shower.

“Wait a second...” I backed up, catching my reflection in the mirror. “What the...” It was not me!

I didn’t know who I was seeing in this mirror, but I knew it couldn’t be me. Why did the reflection look so freakishly familiar? No way! I looked more closely. I squinted the beautiful sea green eyes that were supposedly on my face in the reflection that was supposed to be mine. It didn’t look like me at all. In fact I was not me. First of all, the girl standing in the reflection of this mirror looked like the girl from a magazine I read a few days back. What was her name? …Oh yeah, Kristina Lissete. She had sea green eyes and perfect plump pink lips. Honey blond hair and smooth soft skin. I, on the other hand, had lightening blue eyes and jet black hair. My lips were bloody red and on my chin was a small scar from when I first tried to ride a bike. Now as I stared into the bright mirror, I found myself in a suddenly unfamiliar room. I started seeing the environment around me for the first time. The door that I had so blindly opened was made out of glass, the kind of glass where you could see out but no one could see in. The mirror stretched down the whole wall. The bathroom was a lot bigger than I first thought; the “shower” I was stepping into wasn’t a shower at all, but a medium-sized room filled with clothes. I was guessing it’s some sort of closet/changing room thing. Beside the closet was a bathtub. It looked so comfortable! This was literally paradise for me! I was a model for my local mall. Well that was when I still was Kelly Darkbloom.

“Ms. Lessete?” someone called from afar.

“Yes?” I replied. My! Even my voice sounded stronger. More confident but still kind.

“Please try to hurry in your shower. Your first shoot is in two hours. We have to get you down to the studio in 30 minutes.”

“Okay, I’ll be down in a minute.” So whoever Kristina was, she was a busy girl. I could handle this. After all we were in the same industry…

I hopped into the shower and looked at the shampoo and conditioners. They were all brand-new and the most expensive shampoo and conditioners in the mall back home. Wow, this was going to be an interesting experience. I opened the shower and let the warm water wash over me. When I got out of the shower I was feeling awesome. I felt warm from head to toe. I walked into the changing room and looked at the rows and rows of clothes. Surprisingly, Kristina Lessete owned sweat shirts and jeans just like normal people. I thought her closet would be full of strictly chic dresses and stuff. I chose a black cropped sweater and a pair of skinny jeans. Then I grabbed one of the millions of hair brushes lying neatly on the table in the corner and brushed out Kristina’s — my — honey blond hair. I eyed Kristina’s huge makeup collection. I thought about the fact that I had to get down to the studio soon, so I applied the simple stuff. Foundation, mascara, eyeliner, blush and lipstick.

“Ms. Lessete? Please hurry, we have five more minutes or you’re going to be late. You know how your parents feel about you leaving the house without breakfast.” It’s the same voice as the first time. I guessed it would be her, my famous manager. Angelina Carter.

    “I’m coming!” I shouted back.

I took one last look around the room. It felt like I was forgetting something… My wrist felt unusually bare. My eyes landed on a charm bracelet. It stood out from the other bracelets. I grabbed it and put it on, and ran out of the bathroom. I grabbed Kristina’s phone from her night stand where it was charging and hurried out the door.

I walked down a modern staircase into a glass kitchen.
