小猫绒毛气味的香水 For cat lovers, there are few smells better than that of the soft fur on top of a kitten’s head. And now one perfume company has claimed to have bottled that smell for their latest fragrance. The kitten-inspired scent was produced by perfume company Demeter Fragrance Library (DFL). The company has bottled a range of natural smells including “New Baby,” “Puppy Breath” and “Kitten Fur.” The smells of babies, puppies and kittens are thought to appeal to us as they draw upon our maternal* and paternal* instincts*. The company said its perfume captures “the olfactory* essence of the warmth and comfort of that perfect spot, just behind a kitten’s neck.” To capture the distinctive scent of a kitten, the perfumers used a technique called headspace technology*. This involves capturing the air around the source, a newborn kitten, and building a chemical fingerprint that can be analyzed and copied in lab conditions, said Mark Crames, CEO of DFL. The scents of animals are made up of large organic molecules* that are hard to replicate in the lab. And perfumers are restricted by the number of materials that can be safely sprayed onto the skin. Crames spent 15 years creating Kitten Fur and it is now available as perfume, shower gel, air freshener and even massage oil on the DFL website.(SD-Agencies) |
