How to spend our National Day holiday

National Day is a commemorative day of the birth of our motherland. All Chinese celebrate our National Day. We have a seven-day holiday.

During the holiday, some of us take a trip to do some sightseeing or go back to our hometowns to see our parents. Some of us stay at home to relax and sleep and send blessings to our family members, relatives, friends and so on through QQ, WeChat or text messages. We can see happy people and our national flags everywhere, in the streets and on the cars.

On National Day, I thought about our history. To found and build a new China, many pioneers gave their lives. Since the People’s Republic of China was founded, a few generations have done a lot to make contributions to a better life for us.

Moreover, our homeland has been developed by our previous leaders who used their knowledge and intelligence to make our lives better. We should be grateful to them.

This festival is very significant in reminding us to not forget our history, and to try our best to make our country better and better.

On this important festival, we should commemorate and give our thanks to all those people who have died for us and do something for our country in return. Therefore, we Chinese shouldn’t relax too much.

Instead, we should always prepare for dangers in times of peace and try our best to improve ourselves.

This year is our homeland’s 68th birthday. As students, I think we should relax a bit, but also spend more time on our studies because our homeland should be developed by us in the future.
