THE five-star Kempinski Hotel Shenzhen is inviting moms and kids to attend a cooking class on the afternoon of May 13, so that kids may prepare on their own a delicious salad for their moms the next day.

The hotel’s chef team will teach attendees to prepare various salad dressings and two healthy salads, before issuing them each a signed certificate. After the class, attendees are also entitled to a sumptuous buffet dinner at the Seasons Restaurant. The package is priced at 380 yuan (US$55) for a mom and a kid and in celebration of Mother’s Day, the package is 34 percent off the normal price.

For those grown-ups who want to treat their moms on the special day, Kempinski has other options for May 14. All moms can enjoy a 50 percent discount on lunch and dinner buffets.

The European-style feast at their Seasons Restaurant features traditional delicacies such as Iberico de bellota ham, Parma ham with honey melon, Vienna salami, pasta, baked mussels Provencal, as well as creative dishes prepared by the chef team. Guests can also try mouth-watering desserts like raspberry napoleon, Bavarian strudel with a vanilla sauce, black forest cake, panna cotta, and baked pear puff pastry. Kempinski only uses top-quality seasonal produce to prepare their dishes.
