Mountain bike competition held
    2017-05-16  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A MOUNTAIN bike competition in celebration of the ICIF was organized at the Guangming subvenue Saturday, with over 800 cyclists from all round the world joining the race.

The competition was held by Shenzhen Xidesheng Bicycle Co. Ltd., one of the leading bicycle brands in China. It is the sixth year that the company has organized the cycling competition to add glamour to the ICIF.

Cyclists were categorized into three groups: men, women and downhill. Nearly 1,000 professionals and residents came to the game site to enjoy the cyclists’ breath-taking performance.

The day-long competition ended at around 4 p.m. with Guo Xinwei, Yan Jindi and Liang Liqi winning the first three places in the men’s group. Chen Yin, Deng Huping and Tan Qiuyue won in the women’s group and Jiang Sihan, Liang Jinlong and Xiao Cong took the first three places in the downhill group.

The professional mountain bike competition was part of the Xidesheng Bicycle Cultural Festival during the ICIF.

There were also other events taking place at the festival such as the Parent-child Cycling Experience Day and an Open Day at a bicycle museum. More than 100 families participated in the activities, gaining experience and knowledge about riding and making bicycles.

There were also a series of leisure activities aimed at promoting the culture of cycling, including a forum, stunt show, and parent-child design workshops.(Zhang Qian)
