Fiery crash RICHARD HAMMOND, a presenter of Amazon’s car-themed TV show “The Grand Tour,” escaped serious injury Saturday in a fiery crash while filming in Switzerland. Program-makers said Hammond was airlifted to hospital with a fractured knee. The Rimac Concept One electric supercar was reduced to a twisted, blackened mess after it crashed and caught fire. The program said in a statement that Hammond crashed after completing a climb during a demonstration run at the Hemberg hill race in the east of the alpine country. The show said no one else was involved, and the cause of the crash was under investigation. CMA hosts THE 51st annual Country Music Association Awards will take place from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena and broadcast on ABC on Nov. 8, and for the 10th straight year, Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will share hosting duties. Aside from Vince Gill’s 12-year run as host from 1992-2003, Underwood and Paisley own the longest reign. The historical list of CMA Awards hosts is an esteemed group. When the show was launched in 1967, Bobbi Gentry and Sonny James shared emcee duties. In 1968, the first year the awards show was televised, Dale Evans and Roy Rogers hosted. Flight scare JENNIFER LAWRENCE has walked away without any injury from a harrowing flight in which her private plane reportedly underwent double-engine failure, according to E!. The flight reportedly was departing from Louisville, Kentucky, Lawrence’s hometown. During the flight, one engine reportedly failed at cruising altitude and forced the plane to make an emergency landing in Buffalo, New York. During the landing, the remaining engine also failed. Pilots were able to land the plane safely and Lawrence has reportedly survived the ordeal unscathed. Actress dies GLENNE HEADLY, the Emmy-nominated TV actress and star of films such as “Dick Tracy” and “Mr. Holland’s Opus,” has died. She was 62. No cause of death was given. Headly, who most recently appeared on the big screen in “The Circle” and in HBO’s limited series “The Night Of,” was in production on the Hulu series “Future Man.” She was starring alongside Josh Hutcherson, Ed Begley Jr., Eliza Coupe and Derek Wilson in the comedy created by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. “Future Man” remains in production on its 13-episode season.
