Shenzhen, a city of parks
    2017-07-26  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Abundant rainfall and warm climate have given birth to thousands of plant species in Shenzhen. The 283-kilometer-long coastline is exposed to ocean wave erosion every day and has formed a unique coastal landform after many years. Over a long period of time, all forms of nature have converged in Shenzhen to create the diverse and open natural landscape we see today.

Shenzhen, a city of parks

Shenzhen Dapeng Peninsula National Geopark

This geopark, covering an area of 46.07 square kilometers, is located at the foothills of Qiniang Mountain of the Dapeng Peninsula in eastern Shenzhen and is the largest park in Shenzhen.

Shenzhen Bay Park

Shenzhen Bay Park, located on the southwest coast of Shenzhen, has a coastline of about 13 kilometers, with a total area of about 128.74 hectares. It is the only coastal recreational belt in central Shenzhen.

Fairy Lake Botanical Garden

The garden has the nation’s largest collection of Cycas revoluta and ferns. It is also home to an abundance of mosses. More than 10,000 species of conservation plants have been collected and cultivated in the garden with 21 special gardens set up inside.

Shenzhen International Garden and Flower Expo Park

Covering an area of about 660,000 square meters, the park is a comprehensive municipal park that integrates garden flower exposition, culture and the arts, popular science education and tourism exhibitions.

Lianhuashan Park

Lianhuashan Park is located north of the axis of central Shenzhen with an area of 181 hectares. The main peak of the park is the Peak Square that covers an area of 4,000 square meters. In the middle of the Peak Square stands a statue of Mr. Deng Xiaoping taking huge strides forward.

Guangdong Neilingding Futian National-level Nature Reserve

The nature reserve is located in the south of Guangdong Province and east of the Pearl River Estuary. Covering an area of 922 hectares, the reserve is composed of Futian mangrove forest and Neilingding.

Wutong Mountain National Park
