Cao Zhen caozhen0806@126.com Colorful paintings by Shenzhen Tianjian Primary School students are on display on the first to third floors of Century Place shopping plaza in Huaqiangbei. The exhibition, on display until the end of the month, is part of the “I’m Learning Painting from Masters” public art education project initiated by Guan Shanyue Art Museum. To mark the 20th anniversary of the museum’s opening in June, the museum invited local students to imitate Chinese masters’ ink or oil paintings under the instruction of their fine art teachers. The 40 exhibited items were selected from hundreds of pieces painted by students. “Guan Shanyue Art Museum has long been focusing on public art education by holding exhibitions in local schools and universities or organizing students to create paintings inspired from our collections,” said Wen Zhenfei, artistic director of the museum. “In the future, we will collaborate with more schools to let children express themselves through colors and strokes,” Wen added. “For students, everything can inspire them and develop their potential abilities. I hope students will grow up in an artistic atmosphere. Be creative and unique,” said Hu Aimin, headmaster of Shenzhen Tianjian Primary School. |
