Suicide

ROSIE O’DONNELL’S ex-wife, Michelle Rounds, died at her home Sept. 11 of an apparent suicide, sources told TMZ. She was 46.

The former couple started dating in 2011 and got married in a private ceremony in June 2012. They broke up in November 2014 and O’Donnell filed for divorce in February 2015. O’Donnell cited irretrievably broken relationship as the reason for the divorce, which became final in March 2016.

Hiatus

JENNIFER LAWRENCE told host Savannah Guthrie that she has nothing on the books for the next couple of years on Thursday’s episode of “Today.” “I’m taking [a break]. I don’t have anything set for two years,” the Oscar winner, 27, revealed.

Considering the subject matter of her latest film, her boyfriend Darren Aronofsky’s horror flick “Mother!,” it’s easy to see why Lawrence might want some time off. She said the role was “much darker” than previous projects, and that she had to listen to Christmas music to get the movie out of her head.

‘First Reformed’

A24 has acquired the U.S. rights to Paul Schrader’s thriller “First Reformed,” the company announced Friday. In the film, Ethan Hawke plays a church minister and ex-military chaplain who, after losing his son in war, befriends a pregnant woman (Amanda Seyfried) who is suffering from the loss of her husband. He dives deeper into his church’s suspicious affairs and discovers hidden secrets about its complicity with unethical corporations.

Shot and killed

VETERAN location manager Carlos Munoz Portal was shot and killed while scouting locations for season four of “Narcos.”

The story was first reported by El Pais. A friend of Portal’s told the Spanish daily that the 37-year-old was killed Sept. 11 in a rural area in Mexico, outside of Mexico City. He was found in a vehicle hit with multiple gunshots. The motive of the shooting is unclear.
