Paul Ryan cites Taylor Swift to push tax reform
    2017-09-26  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan has been touting comprehensive tax reform as a key part of the Republican agenda for a long time and today he cited Taylor Swift to argue for an update to the tax code.

Republicans have been posting an image macro series comparing “upgrades” between 1986 (the last year the tax code was changed) and 2017.

In a new tweet, Ryan juxtaposes the Bangles’ 1986 hit “Walk Like an Egyptian” with Swift’s recent No. 1 song “Look What You Made Me Do.”

“The U.S. music tastes have changed since 1986, but our tax code hasn’t,” the tweet reads.
