Forget using earphones or holding a portable speaker. Bose has designed sound system that you hang on your neck.

This speaker is designed to be convenient for people who are constantly on the move as it sits on your body and can play music for up to 12 hours at a time.

For people who work from home, the device could allow them to listen to music without having to invest in multi-room speakers, the company says.

The SoundWear Companion Wearable Speaker works in a similar way to Bluetooth headphones except it does not block out ambient* sounds.

The device, created by audio company Bose, uses Bluetooth to pair with your phone, meaning users can take calls like normal Bluetooth speakers. It can also be controlled through the companion iOS, Android app.

Using the three-button control system on the device, users can adjust music volume, alter playback and even talk to virtual* assistants like Siri.

The speakers are upward-facing, meaning that sound is maximized for the wearer while minimized for those around. An advanced microphone means that if the user takes calls, people on the other end can clearly hear what they’re saying.
