Negotiations school

A SHANGHAI university has opened China’s first international negotiations school to train the country’s future trade negotiators.

The Shanghai University of International Business and Economics yesterday inaugurated the trade talk school and the China institute for World Trade Organization (WTO) studies.

The honorary dean of the school is Zhou Hanmin, a renowned national political advisor and law expert based in Shanghai.

Urban rail network

SHANGHAI is speeding up urban rail construction, with total length expected to reach 800 km by 2020 from the current 617 km, transport authorities said Tuesday.

Shanghai has 15 urban railway transit lines currently in operation, and three more will open by the end of the year, Xie Feng, director of Shanghai municipal commission of transport, told a press conference.
