THE royal wedding will take place May 19, 2018 at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, dispelling rumors that the wedding would take place on a bank holiday weekend, the Kensington Palace announced Friday. The couple has chosen a date after the Duchess of Cambridge’s due date in April, meaning the new royal baby could be one of the guests. The Archbishop of Canterbury gave a hint as to the church location after saying that Harry and Meghan “had chosen to make their vows to God.” The royal family has said they will pay for the wedding. USA Today reports that Windsor Castle, a 900-year-old castle west of London, is the queen’s favorite weekend residence. In fact, she spends most weekends there when she’s in London. But Harry and Markle didn’t just choose it to get the queen’s approval. A statement by Kensington Palace communications secretary Jason Knauf characterized Windsor Castle as “a very special place” that Harry and Markle regularly visited during the year and a half they dated before their engagement.
