Smart devices that aim to transform your beauty routine are once again set to be a trend to watch out for at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, the United States, from January 9 to 12.

Verdera Voice Lighted Mirror

Kohler’s Verdera Voice Lighted Mirror, priced at US$999, is a bathroom mirror suited with a practical dashboard. It is equipped with Amazon Alexa, allowing you to stream music, get weather updates and do other tasks without cluttering up* the countertop*. You can also use voice commands to control the light settings, making it easier to apply makeup or groom. It also works as a motion-activated* night light, which will brighten for handwashing. The mirror has a dual-microphone setup and embedded* speakers for stereo sound quality.

SalonLab Analyzer

Schwarzkopf Professional revealed the new SalonLab Analyzer, a handheld device that measures inner hair condition and moisture* levels. The handheld device uses near infrared* spectroscopy* and multi-channel color scanner to scan a swatch of your hair, measuring different points from roots to tips for the most accurate reading. Salons can then use the information to optimize* the customer’s hair care solution. The system also includes an app, which is even equipped with augmented reality* so you can try on different hair colors before making the commitment.

Cosmetic Formulator

Romy Paris unveiled an US$800 Cosmetic Formulator that uses technology much like a juicer’s cold extraction* components. The small, countertop device pairs with an app that gathers initial* information about your lifestyle. It can also use data from your smartwatch or phone to better understand your activity patterns.

With data on climate, pollution, activity level and sleep habits, the firm claims the device will create a serum with the right combination of ingredients for your skin.

HiMirror

HiMirror is a smart mirror that studies your skin to give you beauty tips. The gadget uses facial recognition* to chart how effective different beauty products are. A hand-held device connects to the HiMirror, providing an analysis of your skin’s health and advising how to treat conditions such as red spots, wrinkles, dark circles*, dehydration* and melanin*.(SD-Agencies)
