As high technology continues to revolutionize our lives in many ways, 3-D printing, artificial intelligence (AI) and robots are no longer strange names to us.

On January 6, a carnival featuring the exploration of science and technology was held at the Shenzhen Book City CBD Store, offering an opportunity for children to play around with hi-tech products in close quarters.

The organizer focused on the field of children’s science and technology education and specifically designed a technology exhibition for family interaction. The 3-D printing, bionic spider robots, a Ferris wheel model with sensors, a mobile tank and robots with different kinds of functions also made stunning appearances, unleashing children’s curiosity and creativity.

Throughout the afternoon, the children were captivated by a “liquid nitrogen science show,” in which humorous professional science teachers relayed scientific knowledge on subjects such as thermal expansion and contraction and the Leidenfrost phenomenon.

In addition, two educational experts have given lectures on how to create a family environment conducive to children’s growth and how to embrace the age of AI. Another speaker was Chen Renyi, who is an expert in the field of robot education. He shared with parents how to cultivate children’s hands-on learning and creative thinking.

The carnival was a part of the “Big Future” activities, a project launched by China’s largest residential real estate developer Vanke and aimed at providing a kaleidoscope of sustainable educational activities to children.
