Nintendo unveils DIY cardboard accessories
    2018-01-24  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Nintendo is once again changing the way we play games, with a series of DIY accessories for its Switch console.

Labo is a new line of interactive build-and-play toys designed with children in mind, that aim to inspire creativity in gamers of all ages. The cardboard creations, called Toy-Cons, can transform the Switch’s joysticks into everything from a piano to a motorbike.

With each Nintendo Labo kit, players transform modular sheets of specially designed cardboard that interact with the Switch console and its Joy-Con controllers.

Each Toy-Con creation presents exciting challenges and varying degrees of complexity*, making each one a unique experience, says Nintendo.

The new range of accessories will be launched in April with two kits, the Variety Kit at US$69.99 and the Robot Kit at US$79.99. Once built, you can customize* your Toy-Con creations with your own markers, stickers and paint to give them a personal touch.

A special customization set that includes fun stencils, stickers and colored tape will also be available for purchase, costing US$9.99, when Labo is released.

With Labo, you can build a functioning 13-key piano that brings your musical creations to life once the Nintendo Switch console and the right Joy-Con controller are inserted.

As you play, the IR Motion Camera in the Right Joy-Con detects which keys are pressed and translates them into unique notes that are heard through the console.

The Variety Kit and the Robot Kit include everything you need to assemble* your Toy-Con creations.(SD-Agencies)
