Recently, three pieces of art works presented by students of Shenwai Longgang International School (SLIS) were voted as “outstanding art” at the Kuku Chai International Youth Art Exhibition. A total of 60 pieces were on display at the exhibition.

The Kuku Chai International Youth Art Exhibition, held at Sea World in Shekou, was jointly organized by six prominent international schools in Shenzhen and the Art Wharf, and intended to showcase the artistic works of international schools, aged 7 to 18. The exhibition was greatly supported by Kuku Chai, a famous Chinese calligraphy and painting artist. By studying her works, the young artists learned the practice of the traditional and modern Chinese ink and wash paintings of landscapes, animals, birds and buildings. Subsequently, students created their own original works with their unique understanding and the innovative use of various media and techniques.

The second and third graders of SLIS produced 10 excellent pieces for this art exhibition. Among the 60 pieces of art works submitted by six schools, Chai and the organizers selected 11 best paintings, three of which were created by SLIS students. When introducing the best works, the organizers specifically mentioned one art work, which was composed by 14 students as a group, through the technique of blowing with straw. No hand painting was involved in the entire process.
