不洗头之交
    2018-02-13  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

bùxǐtóu zhī jiāo

Meaning:

“不” means “not,” “洗头” means to “wash one’s hair,” “之” indicates the previous part is a modifier, and “交” here refers to “friends” or “friendship.” Coined by a Chinese netizen, this term refers to one’s best friends. People don’t have to worry about their appearance when they meet such a friend, and therefore can save the time spent brooming themselves.

Example:

A: 我的电脑好象中毒了,听说你认识会修电脑的大神?

Wǒ de diànnǎo hǎoxiàng zhòngdú le ,tīngshuō nǐ rènshí huì xiū diànnǎo de dàshén?

It seems like my computer has caught some virus. Is it true that you know a computer genius who can fix it?

B: 计算机系的学霸小林是我的不洗头之交。我帮你问问他什么时候有空。

Jìsuànjī xì de xuébà xiǎolín shì wǒ de bùxǐtóu

zhī jiāo 。Wǒ bāng nǐ wènwèn tā shíme shíhòu yǒukòng 。

Xiao Lin, a top student from the computer science department, is my best friend. I will ask him when he has time to come over.

A: 太好了!

Tàihǎo le !

Great!
