Happy-go-lucky 乐天派

    2018-03-12  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A: It’s already 7:30 p.m. Let’s call it a day and get something to eat.

B: I’ve got my laptop ready, printed out the handouts, but there must be something else.

A: Why are you so nervous? It’s just a presentation attended by our own staff members.

B: It’s easy for you to be calm and relaxed about it — you’re not doing it.

A: Come on, you know me — I’m always calm and relaxed. You could say I’m a happy-go-lucky kind of guy.

Note: “Happy-go-lucky” describes someone who doesn’t worry about the future and just accepts what happens. It’s similar to “carefree.” Earlier as “happy-be-lucky” (1630s), the saying was first recorded from 1835.
