Chen Xinyi, Class 5, Senior 2, Shenzhen Foreign Languages School Instructed by Guo Hua 深圳外国语学校高二(5)班 陈心怡 指导教师 郭华 The author of this essay, “The Things I Wish My Dad Knew About Me Before He Died” is now an awarding-winning writer who had an unhappy girlhood. When she was 11, she was depressed about her appearance and accent. Because of them, she was always laughed at by her schoolmates. But everything changed when she grew up. She became more beautiful and confident. However, her father died years before, and she could not share her success with him. After she had her own child, she finally knew that no matter how she had been, she was always beautiful in her father’s mind. This essay about the love between the author and her father impressed me deeply. The father loved his daughter so much that he was always there waiting for her. When she was 11, she was laughed at by many kids, but her father was always there, loving her. No matter how ugly and annoying his daughter was, he was always there, being proud of her. Not until she had her own child did she realize this kind of love. Finally, she understood. The love between the author and her father greatly moved me, and the story makes me know that love can’t wait. Therefore, I determine to love my family every moment from right now on. |
