Brazilian piano couple Fabio and Gisele Witkowski will play the four-hand piano arrangements of Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue,” Mozart’s “Sonata for Piano Four Hands in D Major, K.381,” Mendelssohn’s “Allegro Brillant, Op.92” and Brahms’ “Hungarian Dances (Piano), WoO 1.” The New York Concert Review has described their performances as “showing marvelous rubato and tremendously clean playing, with a lovely sense of tone.” Gisele’s Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall solo recital debut was hailed as “the most genuinely fascinating recital debut in many a moon” by New York Concert Review. Fabio’s playing has been described as having “many passages of bravura, sensitivity and pearly agility” by the Hartford Courant. In addition to performing with orchestras, they enjoy a busy academic life, both teaching at the Hotchkiss School where Fabio is the chairman of the music department. They have appeared as guest artists and professors in several music festivals.
