‘Fantastic Beasts 2’ trailer brings magic back to Europe
    2018-03-16  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

“FANTASTIC Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” has conjured up its first trailer.

The sequel to the 2016 film, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” follows Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) as he tries to thwart the plot of Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp). “Harry Potter” creator J.K. Rowling wrote the screenplay with David Yates once again directing.

Eddie Redmayne returns to star as Newt Scamander, alongside Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, Ezra Miller and Carmen Ejogo. Callum Turner, Zoe Kravitz and Jessica Williams are joining the franchise. Unlike the original film’s U.S. setting, the sequel will take place in Paris and Britain.

Depp’s Gellert Grindelwald only appears for a brief moment at the end of the trailer. Depp’s casting in the previous film came under fire when it was reported the actor was accused of being physically and verbally abusive to his then wife, Amber Heard. JK Rowling defended the Depp casting.

“Fantastic Beasts 2” will hit theaters Nov. 16.(SD-Agencies)
