Government officials strike a bell yesterday in memory of March 18, 1898 when the China-Britain Boundary was settled at Zhongying Street in Shatoujiao, Yantian District. In 1899, Kowloon Peninsula and its adjacent waters were leased to the United Kingdom and Shatoujiao Town was divided into east and west parts. This is the 17th year that a series of activities have been held to remind people not to forget these national humiliations and to work hard to juvenate the Chinese nation. Zhang Qian
