Registration starts for 15th Mission Hills Golfathon
    2018-03-22  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE 15th Mission Hills Golfathon will be held from April 15 to Sept. 15 this year, organizers said yesterday, adding that the registration has already started.

Launched in 2004 to celebrate Mission Hills’ recognition as the world’s largest golf club, the Golfathon offers golf enthusiasts the opportunity to play on the club’s 10 award-winning golf courses in Shenzhen, Dongguan and Haikou.

Over the past 14 years, Mission Hills Golfathon has attracted nearly 100,000 participants from more than 30 countries to compete on courses designed by golf legends like Jack Nicklaus, Greg Norman, Nick Faldo and Annika Sorenstam.

The 2018 Golfathon champion will win a Guest Package of Mission Hills Golfathon 2019, a free Golf & Hotel Package in Mission Hills Haikou, including a two-night stay in SPA VILLA and two green vouchers.

The division winners and 1st runners-up will win the Mission Hills Haikou Golf & Stay Packages.

All Mission Hills Golfathon 2018 matches will be played out on 10 of the club’s 12 signature championship courses, subject to availability (World Cup, Vijay, Faldo, Ozaki, Els, Norman, Leadbetter, Annika, Rose-Poulter and Olazabal Courses).

Players who finish the qualifying rounds on or before Aug. 31 will be qualified to participate in one of the semifinal rounds Sept. 14 on Annika Course.

The top 100 players from the semifinal will be granted to the Grand Final.

The overall champion of the tournament will be determined by the player with the lowest gross score in the final 18-hole competition and the net score prizes will be determined in the New Peoria format.
